How to Create a Header File in C

Although a C++ programmer can use a header file to include any type of code in another file prior to compilation, they mainly use them to define a class. Typically programmers define a class interface in a header file and then write all of the class internal code in a separate source code file. In this way other programmers making use of the class directly or as part of a library need only the header file to inform themselves and the compiler how to use it. A simple class interface defined in a C++ header file can serve as both an example and a template for much larger more complex classes later.

Instructions

Things Youll Need:

  • Text or Code Editor

    Creating a Header File

  1. Step 1

    Create a new file named "MyClass.h." Enter the following three lines at the top of the file:

    #ifndef _MYCLASS
    #define _MYCLASS
    #endif

    The class will be defined between the line beginning with #define and the one beginning with #endif. These are preprocessor directives which tell the compiler to skip inclusion of this files contents if _MYCLASS has already been defined. If _MYCLASS is undefined, the compiler will define it and proceed to include the rest of the file. This prevents you from accidentally including a header file more than once, which can lead to conflicts and errors.

  2. Step 2

    Enter the following two lines after the line beginning with #define:

    #include
    using std::string;

    This example class requires a string data type. The first directive includes the header file for the string class; the second statement simplifies its use by telling the compiler which namespace to make available. Rather than typing "std::string" everywhere, you use a string you can just type "string."

  3. Step 3

    Enter the following before the line with the #endif directive:

    class MyClass
    {
    };

    This defines an empty class.

  4. Step 4

    Fill the empty class by inserting the following lines within the opening and closing brackets:

    public:
    MyClass(string val);
    void setVal(string val);
    string getVal();
    private:
    string _myDataMember;

    You have added one private class data member of type string and three public class method declarations: a constructor and two methods for accessing the data member. Task complete; class interface defined; C++ header file created. Most header files you will create or encounter will simply be more complex variations of this example

How to Updating from Windows 7 RC to Windows 7 RTM

Over 8 million people tested Windows 7 when it was in development and you are still running the Windows 7 Release Candidate which will got expire in March 2010. You might have been running the RC in a production setup because of how reliable and fine the software is, especially for a pre-release product.

Instructions

Things Youll Need:

  • windows7,windows 7 RC, windows 7 RTM, windows7 upgrade
  1. Step 1

    Over 8 million people tested Windows 7 when it was in development and you are still running the Windows 7 Release Candidate which will got expire in March 2010. You might have been running the RC in a production setup because of how reliable and fine the software is, especially for a pre-release product.

  2. Step 2

    The first thing you should understand as a tester of pre-release software, means its pre-release and Microsoft is in no way responsible for anything that can happen running the software in a production environment. Yes, the software is very fine, especially since the first beta released back in January, but there are a few things users must know before using it and what happens when the software is going to expire. Here is a little of information from Microsoft about the Windows 7 Upgrade path policies.

  3. Step 3

    Upgrades to Windows 7, some operating system are not supported due to low configuration of system. For Windows 7 Upgrade, the following operating systems are not supported:

    Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows XP, Windows Vista® RTM, Windows Vista Starter, Windows 7 M3, Windows 7 Beta, Windows 7 RC, or Windows 7 IDS, Windows NT® Server 4.0, Windows 2000 Server. Windows Server® 2003, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2008 R2, Cross-architecture in-place upgrades are not supported. Cross-language in-place upgrades are not supported. Cross-SKU upgrades (for example, Windows 7 N to Windows 7 K) are not supported. Upgrades from Windows Vista to Windows N, Windows K, Windows KN, or Windows E are not supported. Cross-build type in-place upgrades are not supported.

  4. Step 4

    In another development, Microsofts business depends on running millions of programs that stretch back decades, supporting many numbers of peripherals, and giving a platform for thousands of competing manufacturers who make everything from handhelds and tablet PCs to many data-centre mainframes. But with luck you will not see too many of these lies, and on the surface, Windows 7 is impressively fine. Windows 7 is a long way from being perfect, and its not an essential migration if youre happy with XP. But nor is there a real reason to avoid it. Windows 7 is simply the best edition of Windows you can get.

  5. Step 5

    This one gets all the press, but its really more a product of Aero Peek than anything clever in and of itself. Basically it takes some ideas from the Mac OS X dock like larger icons and application launcher duties place whether the application is open or not, a melding of Windows old Quick Launch Bar into the taskbar proper, and adds in traditional Windows taskbar activity like the viewing of open windows. The default performance is fine, which keeps everything stacked in its respective icon, but the real money is in the combine when taskbar is full view, which can be accessed from the taskbar properties. This brings the profits of verbose item names, that always a big win for Windows over Mac OSs icons-only approach. So, Windows 7 is a better operating system than any other operating systems from the Windows.

What Is a Drawing Program

While a lot of people see drawing as something done with a pencil and a piece of paper, many illustrators choose to use drawing programs that can be purchased and installed on their computers. These programs are economical and more convenient in many ways.

    Identification

  1. Your computer can be used to create illustrations using drawing programs.

    Your computer can be used to create illustrations using drawing programs.
    Drawing programs allow users to create drawings using a computer. These drawings are saved in file formats that can be opened by other programs. These images can usually be printed by a printer.
  2. History

  3. The first vector program, Adobe Illustrator, was created in 1987. The first raster program, Adobe Photoshop, was created in 1990.
  4. Input

  5. Drawing programs use a variety of input devices to create the art, such as scanners, tablets, webcams, mouses and keyboards.
  6. Types

  7. Drawing programs are raster or vector. Raster images are made out of small pixels colored differently. Vectors are made out of lines and points. Vectors are more difficult to edit and take up more space than raster images, but they can be resized without ruining the resolution of the image.
  8. Benefits

  9. Drawing programs allow users to create drawings that can be mass produced and that do not degrade in quality. Large quantities of drawings can be stored on a computer and money can also be saved over time, since drawing supplies do not have to be replaced.

What Is Output

Simply put, output is anything that comes out of a computer. It is what the computer returns after processing information. Output can be visual or audible and does not need to be meaningful.

    Types

  1. The types of output can include binary data, text, pictures, video or sound.
  2. Output Devices

  3. Output devices include the computer monitor, printer and sound cards. Each output device provides a different type of output.
  4. Computer Monitors

  5. The computer monitor is the most widely used output device. It displays output as text, images and video.
  6. Printers

  7. A printer is an output device that provides text and image output in a hard copy format.
  8. Sound Cards

  9. Sound cards provide output as sound, including, but not limited to, voice and music.

I am volunteering for a non profit domestic violence shelter and many of the women who go through the shelter have no computer skills. Id like to put together a Intro to Basic computers one on one training sessions. I dont want reinvent the wheel by creating my own tutorial. Where can I find one already done that I can download and print for free?Where can I find websites that offer tutorials for teaching basic computer skills?
hp.com offer a lot of free training, (go to the Home and Office link and then click on free training) also in most of the courses you can download a pdf file for the course. Maybe you can contact hp and they will help you out to provide you with these training manuals, and maybe, maybe... they can give you some equipment to help the shelter. You never know. Good luck!Where can I find websites that offer tutorials for teaching basic computer skills?
This site has a list to some eBooks that cover basic computing topics:

http://manybooks.net/categories/COM

Just choose an eBook format, download and print it.
well if you have a dell than somewhere on it there is an application that you can watch or read that tells you alot about computers. then you can sift throught it and make a powerpiont presentation. that would be the easiest way to present it!

What is the best video camera for shooting computer tutorials

I want to make a video tutorial of me doing some stuff with software.

This is for my colleagues, I am showing them how to do a file format conversion.

What would be the best (value for money) digital video camera for this purpose?

I have checked out the stuff from ebay but would never make a purchase without consulting yahoo answers.What is the best video camera for shooting computer tutorials?
Well, if that is the case then I wouldnt suggest a camera for you at all but rather a program and a microphone. Let me explain, there are freeware programs out there but Im not sure on what website for sure, first try downloads.com , but they record the output of your video card and turn it into a file that you could edit later. Whatever you do on the screen would be recorded. Then you could add a sound of your voice into the video saying whatever it is that you are doing. If you used a camera to record the computer monitor then it would turn out to be bad quality and be more expense then it is worth.
